Partners from the Politecnico di Torino present different SunCoChem research-posters during the GRICU Congress
The SunCoChem project has been represented during the GRICU Congress which took place from 3rd – 9th of July in Ischia, Italy.
Project partners, Simelys Hernández, Alessia Fortunati, Maddalena Zoli, Hilmar Guzmán and Federica Zammillo, from the Politecnico di Torino have participated in the congress presenting their latest works on CO2 photoelectrochemical conversion, biofuels, and ionic liquids, among other topics.
During the event, Alessia Fortunati presented the poster “Understanding the role of imidazolium-based ionic liquids in the electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction: an experimental and theoretical study”. This work presents studies and methods developed to evaluate the performance of Ionic Liquids (IL) for CO2 conversion and to understand the effects of different anion in the selectivity.
In addition, Maddalena Zoli introduced the work titled “Facile and Scalable Synthesis of Cu2O-SnO2 Catalyst for The Photoelectrochemical CO2 Conversion”, which includes current environmental situation and mitigating strategies focused on the CO2 reduction reaction path to CO, H2 and Formic acid.
On the other hand, Hilmar Guzmán and Federica Zammillo presented two more posters named “Improved Electrochemical CO2 reduction to C2+ Products on B-doped CuO catalysts” and “Insight into the practical challenges of membrane-electrode assembly for the CO2 electrochemical reduction and its advantages”, which are also based on some work and research done, as well as results achieved within SunCoChem project.
Finally, Simelys Hernández participated in the event with an oral presentation entitled “Engineering the Electrochemical CO2 Conversion to Chemicals and Fuels by using Metal-oxide-based Catalysts and Optimized Cell Configurations”.
The event has been organised by the Chemical Engineering University Group, which has the objective to promote and coordinate the studies in the fields of Chemical and Process Engineering about the theoretical, experimental, applied and didactic aspects to improve social development of the Country.
