SunCoChem participates in the EU Green Week workshop “Towards Zero Pollution in the Production of Green Fuels and Chemicals”
SunCoChem project participated in the webinar “Towards Zero Pollution in the Production of Green Fuels and Chemicals” with the objective to discuss how to use sunlight to manufacture fuels and chemicals from carbon dioxide and water. The webinar was organised as part of the European Green Week last Friday 4th of June 2021.
Although the progress made in recent years in decreasing the pollution impact of the industrial sector across Europe, important challenges are still present in lowering the carbon footprint by progressively substituting the use of fossil fuels. For this reason, the European Commission is investing in disruptive technologies to develop negative emission solutions and lower Europe’s and industry’s carbon footprint.
During the webinar, attendant examined which technologies are currently under development in Europe with the presentation of SunCoChem and 5 other related projects FlowPhotoChem, Solar2Chem, Ocean Project, DECADE Project and the ReCode Project, as well as the SUNERGY initiative.
SunCoChem technical coordinator Miriam Diaz de los Bernardos, from Eurecat, delivered the project’s presentation titled “Photoelectrocatalytic Device For Sun-Driven Carbon Dioxide Conversion Into Green Chemicals”. Find the agenda and a complete list of speakers here.
