SunCoChem partners met in Eurecat’s facilities to prepare the project’s prototype for the technology validation
During the last week of August, project partners from Eurecat, Politecnico di Torino, Hysytech and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, have met to work together in the preparation of the project’s prototype for the TRL4 validation of SunCoChem.
The meeting, celebrated in Eurecat facilities at Tarragona (Spain), had the objctive to prepare the demonstration of SunCoChem prototype for the start up of the project’s technology validation that will start this September.
The SunCoChem project, coordinated by Eurecat, is developing a solution based on a competitive tandem photoelectrocatalytic reactor to efficiently produce oxo-products from solar energy and CO2 emissions from the European Chemical Industries. This is being achieved by process intensification coupling a solar-driven carbon dioxide reduction to CO/water oxidation to O2 with CC bond carbonylation reaction catalysed by novel multifunctional hybrid photoelectrocatalysts.
