Laurentia presents SunCoChem project during a meeting of BIOVAL Cluster group
SunCoChem partner, Dr. Maria Jose López Tendero from Laurentia, has participated in the “Comisión Transformación Industrial/Bioeconomía” organised by BIOVAL, the Valencian Association of Companies and Entities of the BIO sector and celebrated on May 26th.
BIOVAL is formed by a group of companies from different sectors including biotechnology, biomedicine, and bioeconomy. Some of those companies are working on technologies focused on the recovery, transformation and valorisation of by-products for industrial applications.
During the meeting, Dr. Maria Jose López Tendero presented SunCoChem as a key European project addressing the need of the European Chemical Industry to reduce their dependence on carbon feedstock by producing highly competitive and integrated solutions.
The presentation also included an explanation about the main challenges of the European Chemical Industry and the potential of renewable sources and solar-driven chemistry, as well as an introduction to the main project’s objectives and solution to be developed.
Laurentia is a SME, specialised in development of nanomaterials, capable of supporting companies and research centres to grow through innovation. Within SunCoChem, Laurentia is contributing to the development of semiconductor metal oxides nanoparticles as nanophotocatalysts and will translate those lab-scale results into pilot designs.
