Presenting the SunCoChem project during the Mediterranean Congress in Chemical Engineering
SunCoChem partners from Eurecat, the project’s coordinator, attended the 15th Mediterranean Congress in Chemical Engineering (MECCE), organised as part of the Expoquimia Chemical Industry fair and celebrated from 30th May – 2nd June in Barcelona.
During the congress, Roger Miró, PhD researcher at the Chemical Technology Unit from Eurecat, delivered the presentation “Scalable synthesis of stable core-shell Cu2O/SnO2 nanoparticles for the electrochemical CO2 conversion”, which is based on some of the main research and results obtained as part of the SunCoChem project.
In addition, Miriam Díaz de los Bernardos, project’s scientific coordinator and Head of the Synthesis and Catalysis Line at Chemical Technologies Unit at Eurecat, presented SunCoChem under the presentation titled “Solar-driven CO2 reduction catalysed by hybrid supramolecular photocathodes and enhanced by ionic liquids”.
On the other hand, David Domingo, PhD student at the Chemical Technologies Unit at Eurecat, presented the poster “Supported Imidazolium Based Ionic Liquids on a Polysulfone Matrix for Enhanced CO2 Capture”, which is based on some SunCoChem results demonstrating the potential for improved CO2 capture capabilities of ionic liquids (ILs) by supporting them on a polysulfone (PSU) polymetric matrix.
