Eurecat showcases SunCoChem materials at the H2CAT Demo Day
Project partners from Eurecat, the SunCoChem coordinator, attended the Demo Day organised by H2CAT – the Catalan renewable hydrogen innovation network, together with ACCIÓ and the Efficient Energy Cluster of Catalonia. The event was celebrated last 18th of September at the Research and Innovation Park of the University of Girona.
During the event, SunCoChem was highlighted as one of Eurecat’s key European research and innovation projects in the sustainable chemistry sector which is developing technologies and solutions to promote the decarbonisation of the industry.
Started last May 2020, the SunCoChem project is working to develop an innovative photoelectrocatalytic reactor to synthesize valuable chemical oxo-products, chemicals manufactured from oxo-chemistry processes, from CO2, H2O, and solar energy. With this innovation the project contributes to mitigate costs and CO2 emissions, reducing the European chemical industry’s dependence on carbon-based raw materials while contributing towards a solar-driven carbon-neutral industry aligned with the commitments agreed at the 2015 United National Climate Change Conference (COP21).
The H2CAT Demo Day offered a great array of technological presentations together with a demonstration’s session and a networking space to surface new projects and collaborations in the field of renewable hydrogen and sustainable chemistry.
