Eurecat presents SunCoChem solution at the European Hydrogen Energy Conference 2026
Eurecat Technology Centre, coordinator of the SunCoChem project, participated as exhibitor at the European Hydrogen Energy Conference (EHEC), held in Seville from March 11 – 13.
During the event, Eurecat showcased a range of technological demonstrators highlighting its expertise in hydrogen production, CO₂ capture and valorisation, and the development of advanced materials aimed at enabling a more sustainable industry.
Among these innovations, the SunCoChem solution stood out as a breakthrough “artificial leaf” system that mimics natural photosynthesis to convert CO₂ and water into syngas using sunlight. The technology integrates CO₂ capture and conversion within a single photoelectrochemical device and has been successfully validated at pilot scale, demonstrating strong potential for the sustainable production of fuels and chemical products.
Through these developments, Eurecat reinforced its commitment to accelerating the transition from laboratory research to real-world industrial hydrogen solutions.
