POLITO partners disseminates SunCoChem at the 18th ICC Congress
SunCoChem partner from Politecnico di Torino (POLITO), Mario Gallone, participated at the 18th International Congress on Catalysis (ICC) that took place in Lyon, France, from 14th to 19th July.
During the event, he attended the session “Chemical engineering and process technologies for catalysis” and presented the work titled “Hydroformylation of olefines with CO2 as CO precursor, an electrochemical-catalytic tandem approach”, which introduces the SunCoChem solution to efficiently produce oxo-products from solar energy and CO2 emissions from the European Chemical Industries.
The work presented introduces the study conducted to attempt to couple the hydroformylation process with the electrochemical reduction of CO2 (eCO2RR) to syngas. This study addresses the challenges of integrating syngas production via eCO2RR with hydroformylation, a high-pressure, high-temperature process. The integration of these processes is crucial for sustainability, enabling the conversion of waste materials into valuable resources, aligning with environmental responsibility and a sustainable future.
The International Congress on Catalysis is an important global event in the field of catalysis, bringing together scientists, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss the latest advancements and research in catalysis.
