Presentation of SunCoChem project during the Artificial Photosynthesis Summer School
SunCoChem partners Alessia Fortunati and Maddalena Zoli, from the Politecnico di Torino, have presented the project during the Artificial Photosynthesis Summer School organised by the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (UPPA) and celebrated from 20-23 October in Anglet (France).
During the event, Maddalena Zoli presented the work titled “Facile and scalable synthesis of Cu2O -SnO2 catalyst for the photoelectrochemical CO2 conversion” and Alessia Fortunati delivered the presentation “Ionic liquids for capture and electrochemical conversion of CO2”, which are based on SunCoChem project research results achieved.
Artificial photosynthesis is an appealing approach for a sustainable energy generation as it produces “solar fuels” or commodities for chemistry in a stable and storable chemical form, from solar energy, H2O and CO2.
The Artificial Photosynthesis Summer School covered multidisciplinary aspects as catalysis for water splitting, hydrogen evolution and CO2 reduction, photo-induced processes and device development, among others. The event also counted with the participation of scientific experts and young researchers that could present their work and create new academic, scientific and professional networks.
