Eurecat presents SunCoChem achievements at a forum on H₂ and CO₂ technologies
The SunCoChem coordinator, Eurecat Technology Centre, presented the project’s achievements at the URV-ICIQ-Eurecat Forum on H2 and CO2, held on May 29th, 2024, in Tarragona, Spain. This internal forum, organized by Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ), and Eurecat, focused on advancements in hydrogen and carbon dioxide research.
Adrianna Nogalska, Head of the Hydrogen Technologies Line at Eurecat’s Chemical Technology Unit, showcased the centre’s innovative technologies for hydrogen and CO₂ conversion. SunCoChem was highlighted as a significant case study in advancing towards a sustainable chemical industry.
The SunCoChem project aims at offering a sustainable and carbon-neutral alternative for the production of chemicals, using CO2 captured from the chemical industry itself combined with solar energy. The project is developing a photoelectrocatalytic reactor with the objective to manufacture valuable chemical oxo-products from renewable energies based on CO2, H2O and solar energy.
The URV-ICIQ-Eurecat Forum on H2 and CO2, now in its second edition, aims to foster knowledge exchange among researchers from these three organizations working in hydrogen and carbon dioxide fields.
