Partners from Politecnico di Torino present SunCoChem research during the MRS Spring Meeting 2023
Federica Zammillo, PhD candidate and project partner from Politecnico di Torino, presented the SunCoChem project during the MRS Spring Meeting, which took place virtually from 25th to 27th of April, 2023.
In particular, she introduced the latest work on CO2 electroreduction in the presence of ionic liquids-based electrolytes with an oral presentation entitled “Addressing the Stability Challenges of Gas Diffusion Electrodes in the Presence of ILs-Based Solutions for the Continuous Electrochemical Reduction of CO2”. During her presentation, she discussed the challenges that, in collaboration with Hilmar Guzmán and Simelys Hernández, project partners from POLITO, encountered within the SunCoChem project.
In fact, the critical issues identified operating the commonly employed carbon-based gas diffusion layers with ionic liquids and organic solvents mixtures were thoroughly investigated in recent months and presented at the “Advanced Characterization Techniques for Electrochemistry —Accelerating Research and Development of Energy Materials” Symposia Session.
The 2023 MRS Spring Meeting is a key forum where experts from the materials research community presented the latest research to an interdisciplinary and international audience.
