D3.2 Report on testing of first TRL3 cell design - Executive Summary

The present deliverable reports the testing of TRL 3 half cells (100 cm2) that were designed and manufactured by HST aiming at the tandem photo-electrocatalytic reactor (TPER) development and optimization. The results of the tests will be used as valuable inputs to the optimization of the final TPER cells of SunCoChem.

In particular, this report includes the description of testing conditions, photoelectrochemical / electrochemical results and challenges faced during the testing of the TRL 3 half cell for anodic reaction performed at HZB and the half cell for cathodic reaction performed at POLITO. While initially intended for this deliverable report, the description of testing conditions and the results for the TRL 3 half cell evaluation for CO2 capture and concentration performed at IIT are included in the Deliverable 3.4 report.
