D1.3 Synthesis of the selected anode and cathode hybrid multifunctional PEcats for TRL3 cell optimization - Executive Summary
The present deliverable reports the synthesis, characterization and performance evaluation of the optimum photo-electro-anode and electro-cathode. Specifically, this report focuses on optimized electrodes at lab-scale: 0.24 cm2 sulfurized BiVO4 (S-BiVO4) as the photo-electro-anode and 10 cm2 Rhenium catalysed Cu2O/SnO2 (Cu2O/SnO2-ReCAT) as the electro-cathode. The synthesis / fabrication procedure is described, followed by the current-voltage characteristics, selectivity and stability evaluation.
This deliverable report serves as a baseline for further performance scale-up evaluation on electrodes at larger scale (100cm2) and integration of the photo-electro-anode and electro-cathode into SunCoChem’s tandem photo-electrocatalytic reactor (TPER) cells and modules.
