Politecnico di Torino presents SunCoChem in the European Researchers’ Night
The SunCoChem project has been represented during a session held within the Notte Europea dei Ricercatori, organised by the Politecnico di Torino (Polito), under the framework of the European Commission, and celebrated from 24th – 25th of September.
Simelys Hernandez, Hilmar Guzman, Alessia Fortunati, Maddalena Zoli, Federica Zammillo and Noemi Pirrone, project partners from the Politecnico di Torino organised a Research Laboratory session which took place at the Polito site at Castello del Valentino under the title “The Artificial Photosynthesis to combat the Climate Change”.
During this session, posters on SunCoChem research were exhibited, presenting the project as a key sustainable chemistry project addressing the need of the European Chemical Industry and reducing their dependence on carbon feedstock by the development of a new photoelectrocatalytic device for sun-driven CO2 conversion into green chemicals. The participants could learn more about the development of the technology and the integration of all components of this system capture and conversion of carbon dioxide into useful chemical products.
This edition of the Europeans Researchers’ Night included a programme with an extensive variety of activities and face to face networking meetings, as well as online school sessions which involved young people, families, citizenship, scientists and professionals from different sectors.
